Not sure what parkour is?
Parkour is the discipline of training to overcome obstacles to become mentally, physically and emotionally stronger. It involves running, jumping, climbing, traversing and many other types of movements which culminate in the ability to move freely through an environment.
This description is quite broad because parkour envelops so many different types of movement and is influenced by everything from dance to gymnastics. In order to become a highly skilled traceur (a parkour athlete), one must master many different categories of movement and work to control both the body and the mind.
It may sound like you are training to become a ninja (and maybe you are), but these are the fundamentals behind the most skilled traceurs.
You might be asking yourself, why do I need all this training for parkour? Why can’t I just go jump off stuff with my friends on the weekends?
Well you most certainly can do that. The problem is that you will not progress your skill level to accomplish more difficult movements and you will likely hurt yourself without proper progression. My grandma can jump off a picnic table, land and crumple to the ground. You don’t want to be her, you want to become a true parkour athlete with real skill and knowledge so you can not only perform impressive movements but do them with style.
To get there, you will have to put in some effort. Just like any other sport, it takes time and effort to get really good. The best part, is that building your skills is the most fun part. With Training For Parkour, you can continuously see progression (I’ll teach you a cool way to do this) and pride yourself on the fact that you are constantly improving.
